Importing Flexible Squares journal style to Dreamwidth

I am so happy that I could port Flexible Squares over from Livejournal! This calls for better layout customisation options. I haven't been trying to improve my XHTML/CSS skills for a while, so let's just say that I kind of suck in this area. The only one I can customise well is probably FS and FS alone. Shame on me, I know.

But hey, I'm not a coder. I'm an English teacher in the making.

It's easy to port Flexible Squares to DW.

1. Select Journal Style > Developer Area > Your Layers
2. Create top-level layer. Type: Layout. Core Version: 1 > Create
3. Your Layers > Livejournal S2 Core, v1 > Edit
4. Paste this source code
5. Save and compile
6. Flexible Squares should be ready to choose from journal style selection~

I've been testing out some styles made by refuted graphics over at LJ. They all work great with FS on DW.

At the moment, this DW is using the exact same layout as my LJ. I'll go and have fun with new DW layouts now!

I do have a question, however. Not sure if you'd be able to answer. But the code works wonderfully on my regular page. Reading page, however... nooooot so much. Not sure if it's an issue with the layout itself or with the code. Mind taking a look?

Thank you! I really didn't care for any of the DW styles I saw, even when I'd changed the colours. Then I thought to google, and found this. Worked a dream! It's so nice to have things looking "right" again.

Thank you very much for this! It didn't even cross my mind that something like this would be possible before I came across this. Everything didn't work out without glitch for me though - for one thing, people's names didn't appear on the reading page (just the icons), and the subject lines didn't work as links to the posts (which isn't a big deal, really.) Then I found this, a bit different source code for flexible squares, and it fixed those probs. But I wouldn't have come to look for it without this post, so thanks again!

I feel like an idiot. I got it to import Flexible Squares per your instructions, but I can't import OTHER designs from Flexible Square designers.

HELP ANYONE???
